After youвЂ™re done adding things, hit Update and then close the dialog. IвЂ™ve added a variety of folders here, including the folder for Koto Nation, a non-Kontakt Player library.

Here, you can specify folders for Kontakt libraries. To use it, hit the Database tab in the Browser and then click DB Options. This is an incredibly powerful method of finding and loading patches, but criminally overlooked by many users. This will NOT mess up the names of folders on your hard drive: it only affects the Quick-Load area.ДЄnother fantastic tool is the Database. Very clean, fast, and organized! If your patches folders have generic names like вЂњInstrumentsвЂќ or вЂњPatchesвЂќ, note that you can rename them here. Doing this gives you immediate and easy access to your libraries, with a clear view of the folder structure for each. You can drag NKI/NKM files here, or even entire folders. Hit the Quick button at the top of KontaktвЂ™s UI to reveal the Quick-Load window at the bottom. Once youвЂ™ve cleaned up your file structure, youвЂ™ll likely have an easier time locating and loading the patches you want to use.

For example, check that you donвЂ™t have redundant nested folders, like вЂњShreddage 2вЂќ within вЂњShreddage IIвЂќДЄlso, it can be helpful to make a general вЂKontakt LibrariesвЂ™ folder and organize instruments within that. Before going any further, we recommend making sure your libraries are properly organized to save time in general. This works just fine, but it can become time-consuming if you have many libraries or an unorganized file structure on your computer. The most obvious and straightforward way of loading any given NKI is to go to the Files tab of the Browser and either double click or drag it to KontaktвЂ™s main window. However, the majority of our catalog вЂ“ indeed, the majority of all Kontakt patches out there вЂ“ are not Kontakt Player compatible and cannot be loaded this way. Just hit вЂњAdd LibraryвЂќ, add an instrument like Archtop or Juggernaut, register it in Service Center, and youвЂ™re good to go. If youвЂ™ve only used Kontakt Player libraries, youвЂ™re likely used to the convenience of the Libraries tab.
